Pinealon is a synthetic tripeptide bioregulator consisting of the sequence Glu-Asp-Arg (EDR), developed by the Khavinson group at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology in Russia. Belonging to the same "Khavinson cytomedin" class as Epithalon, Cortagen, and Chonluten, Pinealon is one of the more extensively published short-peptide bioregulators in the Russian academic literature. The compound is investigated in preclinical research (Khavinson, Anisimov, Kolchina, and colleagues; Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine; Neuroendocrinology Letters) for effects on neuronal cell biology, oxidative stress markers, gene expression in CNS tissue, and neuroplasticity pathway endpoints.
