Chonluten is a short-chain peptide bioregulator developed by the Khavinson group at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology in Russia. Belonging to the same "Khavinson bioregulator" class as Epithalon, Cortagen, and Pinealon, Chonluten is the tripeptide identified by Khavinson and colleagues as the bronchial / respiratory epithelium peptide bioregulator. The compound consists of the sequence Glu-Asp-Gly (EDG) and is proposed to function through tissue-specific gene expression modulation in respiratory epithelial cell populations. Chonluten has been investigated in the Russian academic literature (Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine; Khavinson, Chalisova, and colleagues) for pulmonary cell biology, bronchial epithelium gene expression, and age-associated respiratory tract function in preclinical research models. Like other Khavinson bioregulators, Chonluten is studied primarily as a research tool for tissue-specific short-peptide pharmacology rather than as a defined receptor agonist.

Benefits (Research Focus)

Bronchial epithelium pharmacology — studied for short-peptide bioregulator effects on respiratory cell populations

Pulmonary cell biology — investigated for gene expression modulation in respiratory tract research models

Khavinson SAR research — explored alongside other Khavinson short-peptide bioregulators for structure-activity studies

Tissue-specific peptide signaling — examined as a "cytomedin" / cytogen class compound for tissue-selective gene expression research

Age-associated respiratory research — researched for respiratory cell biology endpoints in aged tissue models

What Researchers Look At

• Bronchial epithelial gene expression and proliferation markers

• Comparative pharmacology versus other Khavinson short-peptide bioregulators

• Tissue-selective peptide uptake and cellular signaling pathways

• Respiratory epithelium model systems (in vitro and ex vivo)

• Age-related changes in bronchial cell biology and peptide response in research models
